Bugs in Adobe software - SSO-AD2008-01

What is the problem?

There are several bugs in the Adobe products listed below which, if not fixed, could result in your computer being attacked by criminals.

Software and platforms affected

Affects versions of this software for Unix variants, Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows platforms.

Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and prior
Adobe Reader 7.0.9 and prior
Adobe Acrobat Professional
Adobe Acrobat Standard
Adobe Acrobat 3D

How do I protect myself?

The problem can be easily fixed by downloading and installing the relevant updates recommended by Adobe :

Acrobat 8 and Adobe Reader Adobe recommends Adobe Reader 7 and 8 users update to Adobe Reader 8.1.2, available here:

Adobe recommends Acrobat 8 users on Windows update to Acrobat 8.1.2, available here:

Adobe recommends Acrobat 8 users on Mac update to Acrobat 8.1.2, available here:

Adobe recommends Acrobat 3D version 8 users on Windows update to Acrobat 3D version 8.1.2, available here:

Users with Adobe Reader 7.0 through 7.0.9, who cannot upgrade to Reader 8.1.2, should upgrade to Reader 7.1.0:
