The following software is affected

Adobe Reader 9.4.7 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh
Adobe Acrobat 9.4.7 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux
Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) and earlier 10.x versions for Windows and Macintosh
Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.1) and earlier 10.x versions for Windows and Macintosh

for the following operating system platforms:

Windows
Macintosh
Linux

What is the problem?

There are bugs in the Adobe software list above which, if not fixed, could result in your computer being attacked by criminals. Your personal and/or business information may be accessed for fraudulent or illegal purposes (eg, identity theft).

Criminals have been attacking computers with affected versions of this software.

This software may be installed on your computer as a browser plug-in to display “PDF” content found on many web sites. PDF content is often used for documents or files for public distribution.

What we recommend you do

The problem can be easily fixed by updating your computer to the latest version:

Adobe Reader

Adobe recommends Adobe Reader for Macintosh and Windows users update to the latest version. This can be done by following the simple steps below:

1. Open Adobe Reader

2. Go to Help

3. Click on "Check for Updates..."

Adobe recommends Adobe Reader for Windows users update to the latest version, available at the following URL:
